The Lumenis M22 is a modular multi-application platform specializing in treatment of over 30 different types of skin conditions as well as hair removal. Its Universal IPL handpiece is coupled with advanced optical pulse technology. AOPT enables users the ability to control the pulse shape. This technology provides reproducible results as well as gentle and comfortable treatments. In turn, users are able to individually tailor settings for each patient and each condition with ease.
This handpiece is designed with nine ExpertFilters tailored to the condition being treated and computer-enabled filter recognition for enhanced safety and ease-of use. Each filter can be changed in seconds instead of attaching a whole new handpiece. The Universal IPL handpiece saves not only treatment time and storage space, but is also extremely cost efficient because there is no need to purchase multiple IPL handpieces. Its SapphireCool lightguides maximize patient comfort with continuous contact cooling. They can be used for both small and large areas.
With IPL technology, light pulses penetrate the tissue and create heat. It targets the abnormal vessels that are the root cause of the inflammation. The body’s natural reaction to the treatment removes the abnormal vessels and heals the inflammation threatening the skin and eyelid. IPL technology is especially effective for patients with facial rosacea and ocular rosacea, as these abnormal vessels are typically more prominent and cause greater inflammation. It is able to treat skin and eyelid inflammation while improving overall skin appearance.
